New Sketchbook

another nose in celebration of the first page.

more noses...

awwww, a nose family....

The end of a sketchbook

THis sketchbook took embarrassingly long to finish. So to celebrate, I thought it should end with a crab-ink-blot.

What is it?

Since we've decided to keep the baby's gender a surprise, it's been fun guessing what exactly could be in there...

fully constructed figure

newest ceramic work

The newest figures have really really big noses. They remind me of bird-people.

new figures

I've been working on some porcelain dolls lately. The first few are relatively benign, except they have blue noses. (and need some clothes, I know.)

Beastie #3

This one turned out looking more like a frogman. The glaze did some very strange things on it's body. Not as happy with this one as the others. Reminder to never use High Aluminum White glaze again.

Beastie #2

All the creatures are in various states of decay or rebirth, they're either falling apart or being built back up. You decide.

the beasties are glazed and fired!

I'd like to introduce you to beastie #1. The glaze on it's face did some unexpected but cool things. This is the most successful one, I think. At least, until I learn more about glazes. They never seem to turn out the way I expect them to.

new ceramic work

This summer I've started on something new. I've been working in clay, trying to bring my doodles into the 3rd dimension. There are some snapshots of the pieces I'm working on. The photos are a bit blurry, so forgive me. They haven't been fired yet, so are just raw clay. The biggest one is about 14 inches high or so. I call them my little beastie babies.
